The 36th (Ulster) Division was an infantry division of the British Army, part of Lord Kitchener’s New Army formed in 1914, made up mostly of members from the Ulster Volunteer Force. The division served from October 1915 on the Western Front and took a horrendous casualties at the Somme and throughout the First War. at the end of hostilities in 1919 the regiment was disbanded.
