V force was a small reconnaissance, intelligence and guerrilla unit established in India on the orders of General Sir Archibald Wavell in 1942 to operate behind Japanese lines in Burma during WW2. It existed for a mere three years. The presence of white sapphires, opposed to diamonds in this brooch would indicate it was manufactured in India.
