The Royal Irish Fusiliers was formed in 1881 as an Irish line infantry regiment of the British Army. Between the time of its formation and Irish independence, it was one of eight Irish regiments. in 1968, the Royal Irish Fusiliers was amalgamated with the other regiments of the North Irish Brigade, the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers and the Royal Ulster Rifles, to become the Royal Irish Rangers.

9ct gold and platinum diamond, blue and green enamel. the blue enamel scroll, although complete, appears pock marked and discoloured in places. Makers initials on reverse J.W.B. this brooch comes in a presentation box from the Aldershot stores.
